Privacy policy

Scope

This policy describes how Jungle Drum Limited (trading as Jungledrum) handles personal information when you use https://www.jungledrum.com, join our waitlist, or use our messaging and related communications services. We are a New Zealand agency under the Privacy Act 2020. If another country’s law applies to you, we will consider requests in good faith; we do not claim a full GDPR programme.

We remain an agency under the Privacy Act for information we hold, including when we process message content on a customer’s instructions. For customer message content and the delivery metadata needed to send it, we usually act as a processor on the customer’s instructions under the customer contract (and any data processing addendum). We do not use that content to improve the services unless that contract or addendum says so. For waitlist signups, website logs, and our own accounts and billing we act as a controller.

What we collect

For the waitlist we collect the email address you submit. The form includes a hidden field to discourage bots; we do not use that field as contact data. We may also receive technical data the browser sends in the ordinary course of a request (for example IP address, user agent, and time) in server logs, used to keep the site reliable and to investigate abuse.

The public website waitlist does not ask for your name, phone number, or payment details. If you use the services, we may also hold account details, billing records, traffic metadata, and message content you submit to send.

Why we use it

Waitlist email is used to send product and company news about Jungledrum — not third-party marketing. You asked us to write to you by submitting the form. Each news email will identify Jungle Drum Limited and include a working unsubscribe; we will honour it promptly, and we will not send news until that link works. Logs are used for security, debugging, and preventing spam submissions. We store your address with our list provider under contract. Service data is used to provide, bill, and secure the services and to meet legal and carrier requirements.

We do not sell your email. We do not use waitlist addresses for unrelated third-party marketing.

Who we share it with

Waitlist emails are stored by an email list provider who processes them on our instructions. The website and services are hosted and delivered by infrastructure providers who see the technical data needed to operate them. Carriers and other networks that deliver your messages receive the addressing and content required to complete delivery.

Where a provider holds information outside New Zealand, we use them only if we reasonably believe they are required to protect it in a way comparable to the Privacy Act, or you have authorised that disclosure. They hold it under written contracts.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people or the service from serious harm or fraud, or as part of a sale or restructure of Jungle Drum Limited (the buyer must continue to respect this notice or a successor notice).

How to reach us

To leave the waitlist, use the unsubscribe link in each news email. For access or correction we will publish a contact path on this page before we need it. Jungle Drum Limited’s registered office is the address shown for that company on the New Zealand Companies Register.

Retention

We keep waitlist emails until you ask us to remove them (including by unsubscribe), until we shut the list, or until they bounce persistently. Account and traffic records are kept for as long as needed to provide the services, meet tax and carrier rules, and handle disputes, then deleted or aggregated. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days unless we are investigating abuse.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you may request access to personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. You may ask us to delete your waitlist email or stop sending news; unsubscribe in the news email is the working path for that. We may need to verify the request. You can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (New Zealand) if you are not satisfied with our response.

Children

The waitlist is not for people under 16. That is our policy, not a Privacy Act requirement. If we learn we have collected an email from someone under 16, we will delete it.

Security

We use HTTPS for the site and limit access to waitlist and operations tools. No method of transmission is perfectly secure. Do not send passwords or card numbers to the waitlist form — it does not accept them.

We will post updates on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If we use waitlist email for a materially new purpose, we will say so in the news email (and ask again where the law requires).
